System Hygienics Continues to Demonstrate Their Commitment to Clean Air

System Hygienics have not only survived the last year of unpredictable circumstances, but we have thrived, and we are now celebrating an extremely successful 2020. It is not often people think of ventilation and ductwork cleaning specialists as key workers but, over the last year, we have been at the forefront of fighting COVID-19 and keeping hospitals’ ventilation systems clean to help eliminate the virus and keep buildings safe.

With NHS staff doing everything they possibly can to keep their colleagues and patients safe some areas, such as ventilation systems, need specialist cleaning. If airborne viruses, such as COVID-19, enter a ventilation system, they can rapidly spread through connecting wards and infect other patients, unless the system is properly maintained and cleaned, this is where we come in. We have found that around 80% of our work over the last 12 months has come from NHS hospitals and our team have been working incredibly hard 24/7 to decontaminate ventilation ductwork to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, risking their own health in order to help others.

Our team have played such a vital role during the pandemic, and it is not a responsibility they have taken lightly. It is incredibly humbling to be providing our fantastic NHS with the assurance they need to continue to deliver their services as safely as possible. We cannot thank our team enough for their hard work and unwavering determination to help others throughout the most challenging of circumstances.

It comes as no surprise that keeping air clean has been the top priority for most over the last year, and we have certainly been living up to our strap line - ‘clean air is our business’. However, it is not just regular ductwork cleaning that is vital to keep ventilation systems properly maintained. Our 57-strong nationwide team have been continuing to carry out all of their other usual services for our customers including fire damper testing, ventilation and high riser cleaning. Throughout 2020, we also became the first company to have our engineers put through a Fire Damper Testing Training Course, accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), all whilst undergoing new ownership which included a companywide rebrand to support our future growth.

With 2021 well underway, these changes pave the way for a new era for the company and supports our reputation as a top-level service provider. With our customers remaining our highest priority, our senior management team have ambitious plans for the company and intend to exceed growth of 50% over the next three years to reinforce our position as a UK leading ventilation, maintenance and hygiene company.

It is set to be a big year for our company, and we have exciting times ahead as we are expanding the Leicester office and plan to announce more innovative new methods to help businesses meet compliance regulations seamlessly, without the stress. We will also continue our strong focus on quality processes and commitment to first class service, and from April 1st will be a member of the BESA Ventilation Hygiene Elite Scheme. This will allow us to become a BESA accredited training provider and even run our own training school at our offices (subject to vetting).
