BMI – Hendon Hospital

Breathing New Life into BMI Hendon Hospital

Project Background:

The BMI Hendon Hospital in London is a day-case unit with two theatres, nine spacious consulting rooms, minor treatment rooms, physiotherapy and an imaging suite. They treat both NHS funded patients and patients who wish to pay for their own treatment.

Having worked with numerous hospitals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and having worked with this hospital before, we got in touch to see if they needed our ventilation cleaning services for their theatre. The client requested to have their extract cleaned within the theatre and recovery area before deep cleaning.

Our Solution:

With the environment of the operating theatre being sterile, it needed a thorough clean, removing all debris from the ducts and grilles. To ensure that the work was completed in an efficient and timely manner, we used the innovative Jetvent technology with rotary brushes with a mild disinfection inside the duct.

A particular challenge we came across was the limited access for cleaning. However, we quickly found that the Jetvent technology was of perfect use for the job, due to us utilising access doors and feeding the air into the duct until we reached the supply outlets and extract inlets. This solution was also cost-effective for the client, due to the limited access and our Jetvent methods have prevented unnecessary building work to create more access in the already limited timeframe.

The client requested our service on a Monday, and by the Saturday the job was complete, leaving BMI Hendon Hospital satisfied that clean air was now being fed into an area that would be deep cleaned before being reopened. They were very happy with our efficiency and have arranged for us to conduct this thorough clean during each major shutdown.

Client Testimonial:
